Since the days of ICI India Limited the transition to PMC Group by formation of PMC Rubber Chemicals India Private Limited, the company’s vision to corporate social responsibility is to extend and add values to the society and do good to the citizens by innovation, growth in all aspects of manufacturing process, services that does social good.
The company’s activities to the society that impacts its nearest neighbors are much felt and that includes
- a) supplying drinking water in locality,
- b) free medical health check-up
- c) conducting safety awareness to local school students as a general practice for keeping one safe
- d) providing water supplies to the fire tenders of local civic bodies
- e) promoting education by awarding scholarship to meritorious students.
Besides the direct support for the good of society, we being a major chemical industry have the responsibilities towards environmental practice and keeping in view of protecting people’s health. In order to do so for the mother earth protection of chemical wastes. We have re-engineered every manufacturing process that had addressed these issues and moved over to bio-fuels from fossil fuels to reduce the carbon footprints and reduce the water consumption and plan to make the same towards zero discharge over a period of time.
We are already deeply engaged in rain water harvesting and planning to invest in solar power systematically to reduce consumption of electricity generated from the thermal power stations.

Who We Are
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promote education around the world. Our funding comes from contributions of all PMC Group companies. The Chakrabarti family believes excellence in education is a primary requirement for enduring civilization.
What We Do
- We donate grants for institutions and individuals all around the globe.
- We also fund libraries, donate school desks and books to schools in underdeveloped countries.
- We promote deserving students in schools around PMC Group companies to attend science fairs.
- We also fund school laboratories with equipment.
Our Categories
The following categories are funded each year by the board of the Foundation.
- Scholarships for children of PMC Group employees, renewable for four years.
- Funding for Institutions and Schools around PMC Group companies.
- Bengali Scholar Award for college going students of Bengali descent.
- Promote summer schools for Pennsylvania student residents who want to pursue the business world.
